Monsoon: Chattai is closed for the monsoon from May 15. It opens once the rains stop between Oct end and mid-Nov.

Bookings: Bookings for the next season will officially begin in September-October. Booking enquiries made before this are placed in a priority list and huts are offered to these guests on a priority basis.

Internet: There is Wi-Fi Interet access at Chattai Palolem and Chattai Yoga – which is free of charge. There are also many internet places at Palolem and Agonda.

Extra person/hut: The huts at Chattai can accommodate an extra bed. Charges for an extra person/hut are Rs.350 – 500/night depending on the season. Extra beds are provided free of charge for children 12 years and below. These beds will have a separate mosquito net.

Distances:
Agonda is to the north of Palolem, about 15 minutes away by bike/scooter/car. Dabolim Airport is about 1.5 hours from Palolem/Agonda.
Madgaon station is about 45 minutes by road from Palolem/Agonda.
Canacona station is 10 minutes from Palolem and 15 minutes from Agonda.
Panaji, Baga/Calangute/Anjuna is 2 to 2.5 hours from Palolem/Agonda.

Electricity: Both Palolem and Agonda have electricity. Power cuts happen on and off.

Advice: Guests are advised to bring mosquito repellents and flashlights.

Local market: Chaudi is the local market, 10 minutes from Palolem and 20 minutes from Agonda by bike. The weekly market day is Saturday.

ATM: There are ATMs in Chaudi that accept Visa, Mastercard and Maestro.

Restaurants & Bars: There are many restaurants/bars in Palolem and Agonda, also close to Chattai.

Shops: There are several small general and medical stores that also stock toiletries. Many shops sell beachwear, jewelry, clothes and trinkets.

Currency exchange: There are quite a few currency converters around as well as Western Union centers.

Bike/Car hire: Our Manager will help you hire scooters, motorbikes or cars in both Palolem and Agonda.

Buses: There are buses that ply regularly between Palolem and Agonda to others parts of Goa.

Day trips: Taxis can be hired for day trips to spice plantations in Ponda, Old Goa, Anjuna flea market, Mapusa weekly market and Dandeli Bird Sanctuary.

Beach-hopping: The beaches along this particular stretch are: Agonda, Palolem, Colomb, Patnem, Rajbag, Talpona and Galgibag. The waves are too gentle on all the beaches for any surfing.

Activities in Palolem and Agonda: Several places offer Ayurvedic treatments and Yoga classes. Kayaking, dolphin boat rides, fishing trips and boat trips to ‘Butterfly Island' and ‘Honeymoon Island' (which are actually secluded coves accessible only by boat) are available at both beaches.
